Retained Firefighter 

Mayo County Council is currently setting up panels for the position of: Retained Fire Fighter panels will be used to fill vacancies that may occur in Achill Sound, Ballina, Castlebar, and Kiltimagh Fire Stations.

The starting pay for new entrants will be at the minimum of the scale and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.

Please read the Information Booklet carefully before submitting your application form.

Are you looking to start a new challenging career with Mayo Fire Service? Do you want to be part of a professional team providing a professional service to your local community? We are hosting a Recruitment Day at each of the above Fire Stations between 3pm and 5pm on the 27th May, 2020. The information forum will start at 3pm and you will get some insight into the various roles of the firefighter and what is expected of you to fulfil the role. You will also get the chance to speak to our local crews directly. We look forward to meeting you.
