Request for Tender from Contractors For the delivery of Ballina Urban Adventure Initiative

Mayo Sports Partnership / Mayo County Council is inviting tenders from contractors to co-ordinate an Urban Adventure Initiative in Ballina, County Mayo. Applicant contactors must have experience in partnership working with local service providers in the provision of services to disadvantaged communities.

Background

Ballina is one of the 15 areas selected nationally where an Urban Adventure Model is being developed encouraging greater participation in adventure sports amongst all sectors of the local population. 

The Contractor liaise with Mayo Sports Partnership and Ballina Municipal District who oversee the hubs development and facilitate the Ballina Adventure Sports Network meetings on a continuous basis.

Their role will be to facilitate, support and build capacity in Ballina, which will develop and expand the range of opportunities for people to more fully participate in adventure sports. The Contractor will work closely with sports clubs, community based organisations, local agencies and National Governing Bodies of Sport to a) support the development of exciting and dynamic opportunities to increase participation in adventure sport and physical activity, b) to build capacity with stakeholders and smaller NGB’s to deliver services not currently in the area and c) to develop sustainable local leadership for sport and d) conduct Monitoring & Evaluation.  In line with the Mayo Sports Partnership Strategy specific groups will be targeted such as young people, older adults, women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities etc.
