Museums
Mayo’s rich heritage is to be seen around almost every corner, while each of the museums opens a window onto the past in the county and further afield.
The variety to be seen in these centres is astonishing – from the National Museum devoted to telling the story of rural living; to one which commemorates a single important figure from Ireland’s struggle towards economic and political independence; as well as a remarkable collection of political memorabilia and artefacts gathered by one Mayo man.
