My Open Library
My Open Library offers extended opening hours to library members on a self-service basis outside normal opening hours, seven days a week, from 8am to 10pm, 365 days a year. Staffed hours remain the same and all My Open Library branches are fully staffed outside My Open Library hours.
Users have access to the library at times that suit them best and the library is strengthened as a focal point for community engagement. Enhanced services allow patrons to borrow and return items in unstaffed periods. Other resources are accessible in unstaffed hours including pc access, print services, and Wi-Fi access.
The My Open Library service will be available for library members aged 16 and over, once an induction has been completed. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Here in Co. Mayo, both Ballina and Swinford libraries will offer My Open Library access by the end of 2020.
